Good things come in Threes

Hmm this is a little sexy for this blog don't you think?
Well in this case good things come in THREE DAYS! Eek! Featured above are my three favourite girls in the Batman universe! Yeh I don't go for any of the Batwoman/girl deals.

We're still accepting submissions so check out the details here on how you can be a part of Batman Week!

And because you've been so good, here's a sneak peek of what our darling MarySew is going to contribute to Batman Week! I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT IT IS BUT IT LOOKS AMAZING!

Who's your favourite Batman character? Why? Let us know, you may just see them featured somewhere next week!

The Countdown begins!

Credit
FOUR DAYS to go until Batman Week begins! That's how many Boy Wonders Batman has had! [Yes I'm not including the girl one because that would make it 5 Robins and would ruin my little countdown thing happening here wouldn't it?] Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake and Bat's own son Damian Wayne. Who was your favourite? I'm finding it hard to choose. Dick Grayson [aka Nightwing], the first Robin, above every other because he is SO funny, but Jason Todd [aka Red Hood] because he's got issues and Damian Wayne because he's SUCH a little brat and now Tim Drake [aka Red Robin] is growing on me too! What's a girl to do?

Am I prepared? Not at all! There's nothing like last minute crafting to stay focused on the game eh kids?

Don't forget, if you have a batman-themed craft you have made in the past, hit me up with an email with a link and we will feature it here! Got a tutorial you want to guest-blog? Send it on over! max @ max-california.com [without the spaces].

Grease Monkey

I ain't even mad, bro!
I started this a month or so back, and then my sewing machine literally fell apart stitching it. I almost died since this was going to be my last project before I had to do my harley Quinn costume and also my friend's wedding dress and our bridesmaid dresses. I FLIPPED. Well. Problem averted. I'm going to buy a new machine since it will be only $30 cheaper to get my old one fixed. HAR HAR NO WAY. So I've been using my mum's dreamboat Janome and I am so keen for one. I love Janomes. I could change my name to Janome California if I could. Anyway, enough drivel, ONTO THE MECHANIC COVERALL!

I'm totally drawing up a pattern for this, going to scan it in sometime this week for you to print out and make! YEY YOU GUYS YEY! It will fit up to a tall 2 year old. A very tall skinny 2 year old since my kid is a lean, green, nerdy string bean [well he's on the way anyway!]

Batman Week!

Oh yes. Thera and I have something amazing planned. We're giving ourselves {and you!} plenty of time to prepare, but we are planning one whole week chock-full of Batman-themed crafting!

What are you guys bringing to the table here?
A tutorial a day for seven days on each of our blogs. This means you guys get TWO tutorials a day! Batman themed everything! We're going to be bringing you clothing, accessories, things for yourself and things for your baby.

How can I join in?
You have a month here, and we are calling for submissions from you too! Have you made something Batman inspired? We're calling for EVERYTHING as long as it was made by you and ties into the Batman universe somehow. If you want to submit a tutorial for us to feature as well we totally will! If you just have something you have made, send us that as well!

How can I submit my radness?
Email your interest to max@max-california.com and we will get back to you! You have until April 30 so get cracking!

Buttons [as usual!]

HARLEY QUINN AT SUPANOVA 2011

I've been scarce. SO SCARCE. I know. All for good reason though and I promise I will update with all the photos I can find. This weekend just gone I was Harley Quinn at Brisbane's Supanova 2011. It's a giant nerdfest basically and I had an ABSOLUTE BLAST!

I'll do a proper rundown this week sometime when I have more time but I'm just going to leave this here for you so you can see that when you put your mind to something, you really can do ANYTHING. I never ever thought I would sew with lycra and enjoy it. I put in invisible zippers, I MADE gloves. I MADE shoes. I made ridic cute wrist ruffles. And even though everyone says I looked wicked awesome I already have plans on how to make my costume even more awesome.

I even made friends with my Harley Quinn idol Elise Archer.

In other news, Thera and I are planning something AWESOME for our blogs since we've been a bit down-in-the-dumps uncrafty lately. It's going to happen the first week of May and we'll be putting posts up about it tomorrow so stay tuned. Holler if you love Batman!
