Today I'm a bit excited about the Goodship Dress. It's one of those patterns I have had on my wishlist for ages, so when I saw the Sew Fab e-bundle included it {as well as several other of my favourites} I was PRETTY excited! I love patterns that have a wide range of sizes, and the Goodship Dress goes from 2T to 14! I wonder if I could fit into a 14, ha! {I'm assuming it's a teen 14, not a women's 14}{we have that here in Australia}
The dress is inspired by Shirley Temple! How cute is it? I'm a massive sucker for sailor dresses, even though I haven't even finished a sailor shirt for either of my kids, although I have a million patterns drafted and outfits half cut out. I don't know what is wrong with me sometimes...
ANYWAY, here's my round-up of my favourite Goodship Dresses that have been made out there in bloglandia. Please if you're going to pin the pictures, head over to the original sources {linked in the comments about the pictures} so that the clever people who made the dresses get the recognition :)
I want to make one for Eddie so bad, but she's a little too little. I love this one by Handmade Martini that was shortened to fit her little girl. The colours are awesome, I'm a sucker for the blue! Michelle also gives some handy tips on how she made the pleats and bound the armholes.
I love the colours and how these three match. These were made by the creator of the Goodship dress, Karen LePage.
Pretty in love with this Goodship Dress by Kristie. The colours are amazing, and the tab is so cool. How perfect is this?
I love Jessica's version of it, the nautical fabric with the grey is so clean looking!
And Once Upon a Sewing Machine has an excellent tutorial for adding cuffed sleeves to the dress. Did that just make this dress an all-year-round thing? I THINK IT DID!
When I get around to making this dress, I really love the BRIGHT coloured versions, but I think I would do it in white & navy for a classic look! Yawn, boring? Oh well!
Have you made the Goodship Dress yet? Could you link me to yours?

Thanks for including us. This dress is so cute, and I was pleasantly surprised how easy it sewed up! Good luck in the final Project Run and Play stretch!
ReplyDeleteI'm not so thrilled with the bow but that erosion without the bow is DARLING! :)
