Scirocco Dress Inspiration!

The Scirocco dress pattern by Figgy's Patterns has been on my WANT WANT WANT TO BUY list for a long time. It's so pretty at the front, but the twist at the back is just perfect! So many of my friends want me to make it for them, so I better figure out some epic up-sizing skills!

This was one of the patterns that cinched the deal for me. When I saw that it was part of the Sew Fab e-bundle sale there was no second-guessing, no asking Tim, "Bub, can I?". It was just wham, bam, thank you ma'am. And no buyer's remorse either! This pattern alone is $17, so why not pay a bit more and get a whole heap more patterns as well? It comes in sizes 18months to 9.

The pattern bundle is still available for 2 more days! Well. 3 I guess, since it doesn't go by Australia time ahah!

I love the explanation of the dress : Scirocco is the constellation of winds blowing hot air from the Sahara into Europe. Um, isn't that magical! A constellation of winds! Anyway, let's see my favourite Scirocco dresses! Remember: Please if you're going to pin the pictures, head over to the original sources {linked in the comments about the pictures} so that the clever people who made the dresses get the recognition :)

I'm hugely in love with anything blue. Especially turquoise blue. This dress is just SO perfect! Camille from Creative Pursuits made this pretty version! I've been enjoying looking for other people's creations from patterns I own, it helps make me want to use those patterns all the more, plus I get some great tips about any construction problems, or ideas for how to make it easier next time.

Check out the twirl factor in NanouQc's dress! Her blog is in french, but so many beautiful detail photos!

It seems quite a few people have a bit of an issue with sewing the shoulders up on this pattern, but there is a photo tutorial on their blog {linked at the bottom of this post as well}.

MrsC at love assembled made two versions, but I love this dotty version so much! She lined the ruffles and I love that too!

I love these two versions by Shelly who created the pattern! Seriously that lime green!

A Little Gressica... hahah I always say that now. It's Jessica from A Little Grey's Instagram name and it makes me laugh because I am lame and have a huge blog-crush on her. Ahem. Jessica finished this Scirocco dress yesterday, I love the contrast skirt & top!

I really can't wait to sew this pattern. I will probably make the 18month size up first because it's the smallest, and HEY our friend Amelia is 18 months!

If you have trouble sewing this pattern, Hemoglobin Hummingird wrote a photo tutorial on how to put it all together.

Have you made this dress up? Could you leave a link to show me? I really want to see!

Here are allllll the patterns you get in this special one week only deal! Click here to read more details & buy!
